Upperlands Linen

Upperlands village, three miles north-east of Maghera is home to the world's oldest family linen business, founded by John Clark in 1736.

Nine generations forward to this very day, the Clark family still work the looms and bleach house of the linen mill in Upperlands.

The sculpture in the centre of Upperlands, which is made from parts of the old linen factory, reflects the village's long association with linen production
